I escaped from a New Year's day party and got to Lancing for 3:20pm!! Parked on the beach and rigged quick 4.0m in the gloom. Rain started as soon as I launched but it stayed good and windy. Waves were waist to chest high and improved through next hour. Shorebreak was non-existant. Wind was a comfy cross-on, allowing a bit of down-the-line. Sailed until dark at 4:30pm, wind got pretty strong: over 30mph, gusting more.
